USPS postage rates are changing on January 27, 2019. Here’s what you need to know.

Key Increases:

First Class single piece postage stamps are increasing by 5 cents from $0.50 to $0.55.

The following products are going up across the board, with increases ranging from 1.3% to 4.8%.

• First Class Letters
• Standard (Marketing Mail) Letters and Flats
• Nonprofit (Marketing Mail) Letters and Flats

Key Decreases:

• The additional ounce rate for First Class Mail will decrease from $0.21 to $0.15.
• The Metered Mail rate is $.50, saving you 5 cents per piece.

What can you do?

• Address your mail list hygiene. Make sure you have good, validated addresses and up-to-date contact information (stay current with move updates). Every undeliverable piece costs you money!
• Take advantage of postal discounts (presort, automation, SCF). Save $0.172 to $0.33, or more, by taking advantage of full postal discounts and utilizing standard/nonprofit marketing mail.
• Mail only to your target audience. You’ll mail fewer pieces, get better response rates, and improve your profitability.
