About the Client

Goodwill of South Central Wisconsin is dedicated to supporting individuals with barriers to employment, focusing on people with disabilities and those who have been imprisoned. Their mission-driven efforts include a wide range of job training programs and housing assistance throughout the region. Their newest facility in Madison, WI, is the first to combine a retail outlet store, warehouse, and e-commerce operations space, providing customers the unique opportunity to purchase items by the pound. Revenue generated from this location supports critical job and housing programs, including the maintenance of eight Dane County apartment complexes with a total of 74 units, all aimed at fostering self-sufficiency and community reintegration.

Project Goals:

For their new Madison location—the first outlet of its kind in the area—Goodwill of South Central Wisconsin sought signage solutions to serve both practical and inspirational purposes. The goals of this project were:

  • Operational Signage: Create clear, informative signs to guide customers through the unique pricing model and shopping experience at the outlet.
  • Mission-Driven Feature Walls: Design and install visually engaging walls that highlight Goodwill’s mission and showcase the positive impact customers make by shopping with them, emphasizing the organization’s participants.
  • Employee-Focused Signage: Develop signage for internal areas, including the conference room and breakroom, to inspire staff by featuring participants and mission icons such as “Live, Work, Thrive.”
